Cambridge's Accordia welcomes block management from Encore!

Encore was recently instructed to take over
the block management of the Glass Building at Accordia, the award-winning development off Cambridge's Brooklands Avenue.
Designed by Feilden Clegg Bradley Architects, Accordia was the first residential scheme of its kind to take the coveted Stirling Prize (2008). A combination of logically laid out slow-speed roads, communal playgrounds, and sweeping green spaces have created a unique and highly acclaimed living environment here. What's more, a splendid array of mature trees was left untouched during the construction phase, with a small brook also running through the development.
Formerly home to government offices, a listed WWII bunker remains on site, and Cambridge's Botanic Gardens are also just a stone's throw away. The block newly assigned to Encore has been designed and constructed using elements that complement its  natural surroundings.
In terms of estate management, the scheme plays to each of Encore's strengths. Unhappy with their previous management company, residents wanted a block management solution that would provide exceptional service at every level, with a need to tackle the spiralling service charge costs and a closer look at the development's environmental impact also high on the agenda.
Estate manager Gordon Ferguson said: "to be involved in a development such as this is indeed a privilege. We've actually been on site now since the beginning of the year, taking charge of the job in hand and delivering a service that our clients here can rely on. Our team of dedicated caretakers, gardeners and maintenance staff are working hard to achieve the high standards already set by Accordia itself. We're also looking at the bigger picture overall in an effort to ensure the efficient, cost-effective and wholly professional management of this important scheme."
