As summer comes to a close Encore staff are reflecting on a very busy time of teambuilding and fundraising.
Our fundraising summer kicked off in July with a highly anticipated Cup Cake day in the Cambridge office. Organised by one of Encore's service charge accountants in memory of her grandmother, the event raised more than £350 for the Alzheimers Society.
Then in August, teams from our Berkshire and Midlands offices took part in charity dragon boat races which together have raised thousands of pounds for good causes. The Reading Dragon Boat Festival attracted more than 3,000 people for a whole day of family fun and culminated in the Berkshire teams best performance todate finishing in 8th place. Meanwhile in Nottingham the Encore team won all three of their races on the River Trent to finish a very respectable 7th.
And finally in September one of our Property Managers completed the Three Peaks Challenge - one of a series of fundraising activities with "Talitha's Titans" to raise money for Macmillan. Set up in memory of a friend who sadly lost her battle with cancer this year, the group have raised more than £12,500 so far for the charity which supported Talitha and her family towards the end of her life. Their justgiving page is here.
Encore Managing Director Joaquim Fillola said: "I am extremely proud of the team spirit shown throughout this summer – we’ve come together to celebrate Encore’s success, and helped some important charities along the way. These events have brought Encore staff together in different ways - and the outcome is to give something back to the communities in which we operate.”
