Encore’s in-house training programme – “The Encore Academy” - has been hailed a resounding success just one year into its implementation following a crop of staff promotions within the estate management teams.
The Academy was launched in 2017 as part of the company’s commitment to ensuring all Encore staff provide clients with the highest possible standard of service – whatever their role. Designed to ensure that employees fully understand The Encore Way, possess the tools and ability required to carry out their responsibilities, and feel supported enough to achieve their goals, each session has been carefully planned to focus on the individual.
The current programme was introduced after Encore’s Operations team carried out an in-depth study of the various roles which exist across the company in order to devise and develop a comprehensive portfolio of course materials. Individual training sessions covering key aspects of property management are delivered by an experienced team comprising Encore directors, managers and team leaders who are all experts in their field.
The aim is to demonstrate best practice in property management - and why it is important to do it that way - whilst ensuring our staff are working in the most efficient way possible. Feedback from staff has been overwhelmingly positive and the results speak for themselves, with ten Assistant Property Managers (APMs) being promoted to Property Manager (PM), and four Property Managers making the step up to Estate Manager.
Plans are already in place to expand the programme to provide more support for Encore’s 28-strong team of Service Charge Accountants and to introduce additional sessions aimed at new starters and assisting staff with the transition from PM to EM.
Encore Managing Director Joaquim Fillola said: "Encore has always believed that property management is a people business and it is the skills and commitment of our staff that has made Encore successful. So while we remain strong advocates of professional training, mentoring is an essential ingredient to how we work as a team and the Encore Academy really embraces this."
“I am delighted that the hard work and commitment shown by everyone involved in the Academy training programme has paid off by helping so many of our staff to reach the next stage in their careers.”
