Training & Development Manager

Reports to: Support Manager

Location: 2 Hills Road, Cambridge CB2 1JP

Hours: 08:30-17:30 Monday to Thursday, 08:30 - 17:00 Friday with some additional hours as needed


This is an exciting role for someone to lead the Encore Training Academy, inspire the teams and become
an in-house expert of our main software system, Qube. The Academy is designed to offer our team of
property professionals another avenue of learning to complement their path to achieving IRPM or
AssocRICS qualifications. Offering a range of training sessions and knowledge sharing, the Academy is
available to all staff members as part of their initial onboarding process, as well as offering refresher courses
throughout the year.

As the lead of the Academy, you will be responsible for the ongoing successful management and delivery of existing sessions (hosted by others), as well as being individually tasked with hosting the Qube training
sessions for all new starters and other mini refresher courses. You will work closely with staff members on
an individual basis and within a group - be it virtually or in the office - to ensure they have the right tools
and knowledge to be the best that they can be. Training and coaching will come naturally to you and this
will show in the outcome of their work and the ongoing success of our business.

As part of the Support team you will play a key role in identifying gaps in training, from both a company and
individual point of view, by conducting regular analysis of the support jobs logged by the team. You will be
required to create new training sessions, delivered by the most appropriate and innovative training methods.

You will also collaborate on various projects throughout the year.


  • Collaborate on the successful on-boarding of all new starters in terms of set-up and training
  • Deliver new starter and ongoing refresher training sessions, predominantly on Qube
  • Keep up to date with industry trends and modifying course content when applicable
  • Create training programmes that are aligned with the organisation’s service pillars and values
  • Oversee training programmes that include web-based seminars, printed manuals, group sessions,
    training videos, and more
  • Determine training needs and requirements for the company by meeting with managers, talking with
    employees, or administering surveysEncore Estate Management Ltd
  • Modify or create course materials and training manuals to meet specific training needs
  • Conducting training sessions in the appropriate manner including online virtual sessions and classroom based
  • Acting as the go to within the business for anyone with questions or queries regarding training and
    development plans with specific relation to the Encore Academy or system training
  • Schedule training sessions, organise information technology and other equipment, and manage course enrolment
  • Work with managers to address learning issues, instruction problems, or new educational needs
    regarding specific employees or departments
  • Maintain an understanding of new educational and training techniques and methods
  • Lead training projects from development through to delivery, as well as collaborating on projects that
    involve training

Skills & Experience Required

The successful candidate will present with the following:


  • Industry experience is highly desirable
  • 2 years plus of business training experience is highly desirable
  • Experience with Qube Property Management is advantageous but not essential


  • Ability to conduct simple or more technical user training on either a 1-on-1 basis, in small groups or
    as larger training sessions
  • Comfortable with system/software training
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel]
  • Strong project and time management skills
  • Confident presenter via a classroom or virtual platform
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills

These are the key responsibilities of the role. There will be other general duties associated with the position. To be eligible, a candidate must be legally able to work in the UK and have a full, ‘clean’ driving licence.
