Encore achieves BAFE SP205 accreditation

BAFE accreditation is nationally recognised as the benchmark for excellence in fire risk assessments, but is most commonly held by specialist fire protection companies rather than property managers. Very few managing agents in the UK have achieved it, making Encore’s accreditation a rare and significant milestone for the sector.

For our clients, residents, and stakeholders, this provides independent assurance that Encore’s fire safety risk assessments are not only reliable but have been tested and verified against strict external standards. It demonstrates that our approach to safety is proactive, pragmatic, and goes beyond the accepted standard to deliver real improvements for building safety and peace of mind for our residents.

Importantly, this achievement is not just a badge. It forms part of Encore’s wider strategy around resident wellbeing, operational excellence, and building trust across the communities we manage. By securing our BAFE accreditation, we continue to show leadership in areas that matter most to the people who live and work in the developments under our care.

Speaking about why BAFE accreditation is so important, Head of Health & Safety at Encore, Steven Hazell said: “I’m really proud of the team. BAFE SP205 is a big milestone, and it’s rare in our sector. In fact, we’re one of only two managing agents to hold it. It confirms our fire risk assessments are delivered to consultancy-grade standards and independently checked. We don’t just tick boxes; we give residents and clients genuine confidence, because that’s the standard we set for every building we look after.”

BAFE Accreditation

Achieving BAFE SP205 accreditation shows our commitment to making fire safety clear and easy to manage, focusing on what really matters and ensuring that service charge funds are used wisely to keep buildings safe.
